About the Number Extractor
Invoices, reports, chat messages and web pages mix numbers with words. This tool finds each number and lists it on its own line, in the order it appears, so you can paste the list straight into a spreadsheet column.
It recognises whole numbers, decimals such as 3.75, negative values such as -12 and numbers with thousands separators such as 1,299.99. Currency signs and units are left out. Dates and phone numbers are split at their separators, so check those results if your text contains them.
How to use it
- Paste your text.
- Click Extract Numbers.
- Copy the list into your spreadsheet or calculator.

Frequently asked questions
Does it keep the currency sign?
No. Only the number itself is extracted, which makes it easier to use in calculations.
How are commas handled?
A comma followed directly by digits is treated as a thousands separator, so “1,299” stays together. A list written as “1, 2, 3” gives three separate numbers.
