About the Remove Line Breaks
When you copy text out of a PDF, an email or a narrow web column, every visual line often ends with a hard line break. Pasting that text into a document, a form or a CMS leaves you with ragged lines that stop halfway across the page. This tool joins those lines back together by replacing each line break with a single space.
By default it keeps real paragraph breaks, which are the blank lines between paragraphs, so your text keeps its structure. Untick the option if you want everything merged into one continuous block, for example to paste into a single-line field or a spreadsheet cell. Spaces around the joined lines are tidied so you do not end up with double spaces.
How to use it
- Paste the text that contains unwanted line breaks into the input box.
- Choose whether to keep paragraph breaks. Leave it ticked to preserve blank lines between paragraphs.
- Click Remove Line Breaks.
- Copy the cleaned text or download it as a .txt file.
Example

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a line break and a paragraph break?
A line break ends one line and starts the next one straight away. A paragraph break is usually two line breaks in a row, which shows up as a blank line. This tool can remove the first kind while keeping the second.
Does it handle Windows and Mac line endings?
Yes. Windows uses a carriage return plus line feed (CRLF) and macOS and Linux use a line feed (LF). Both are recognised and replaced.
Will words at the end of a line be joined together?
No. Each line break is replaced with a space, so the last word of one line and the first word of the next stay separate. Words that were split with a hyphen at the end of a line keep the hyphen.
Is the text I enter kept private?
Yes. The Remove Line Breaks runs entirely in your web browser, so your text is never uploaded to or stored on our servers. Like most free websites, TextForge shows ads from Google, which may use cookies. See our Privacy Policy for details.
