About the Shuffle Lines
Shuffling is useful for picking a random winner, mixing up quiz questions, setting a presentation order or randomising a playlist. Paste a list with one item per line and this tool puts it into a new random order each time you click.
The tool uses the Fisher–Yates shuffle with your browser’s secure random number generator, so every possible order is equally likely. The first line of the result can be used as a random pick.
How to use it
- Paste your list, one item per line.
- Click Shuffle Lines.
- Click again for a different order, then copy the result.

Is the shuffle truly random?
It uses a cryptographically secure random source and an unbiased algorithm, so every order has the same chance.
Are empty lines shuffled too?
Yes. Remove them first with Remove Empty Lines if you do not want them.
Can I undo a shuffle?
No. Keep a copy of your original list if you need it.
Is the text I enter kept private?
