About the Sort Lines Z–A
Reverse alphabetical order is useful when you want the end of the alphabet first, or when you want the highest-numbered items at the top of a list. This tool sorts your lines from Z to A.
It uses the same natural, case-insensitive comparison as our A–Z sorter, so “Version 10” comes before “Version 9” in descending order. Empty lines are removed by default.
How to use it
- Paste your list, one item per line.
- Choose whether to remove empty lines.
- Click Sort Z–A and copy the result.

- Listing versions or file names with the newest first.
- Reversing an alphabetical list without re-typing it.

How are numbers ordered?
By value, so higher numbers come first when sorting Z–A.
Does it keep duplicate lines?
Yes. Use Remove Duplicate Lines if you want unique items.
Is uppercase sorted separately?
No. Letter case is ignored when comparing lines.
